2024 Bencher By-election results (County of Vancouver) – Katrina Harry, KC elected in Vancouver County

The November 2024 Bencher by-election results are now available and Katrina Harry, KC has been elected as Bencher for the County of Vancouver.

Katrina was called to the bar in 2006 and primarily works in the areas of child protection and family. She created the first Parent Legal Centre in 2014 as a way for parents to resolve their child protection matters early and collaboratively. In addition to her previous and ongoing work with Legal Aid BC, she is a sole practitioner in Vancouver, with occasional files across BC. Her legal aid work involved clients with few resources and little support.

Katrina has lent her leadership to a variety of boards, including the Battered Women’s Support Services, the Community Legal Assistance Society and the editorial board for the 2024 Child and Family Services Law and Practice manual for CLEBC. She is also a former Bencher for Vancouver County from 2022 to 2023 and chaired the Truth and Reconciliation Advisory Committee during that time.

Katrina is a proud member of the Shuswap nation. Katrina appreciates the privilege of being a lawyer, and strives to ensure others have the same opportunities to connect with mentors and grow in their areas of passion.
