Law Society suspends Vancouver lawyer Glen Orris

Lawyer Robert Glen Orris, QC has admitted to professional misconduct and will serve a three week suspension beginning December 2, 2021.

Orris admitted that in the course of acting for a client in a criminal matter, he communicated with members of the jury panel to advance or protect his client’s interest. During a break in the proceeding, the prospective jurors asked him procedural questions about the matter and commented on the particular circumstances of Orris’ client. Orris answered the questions, as well as made comments in support of his client.

The Law Society’s Discipline Committee Chair accepted a consent agreement between the Law Society and Orris that set out the three week suspension.
