The Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, in partnership with the Law Society of BC, invites you to our upcoming Mental Health Forum on May 7, 2025. This virtual event will explore mental health in the legal profession and provide practical strategies for well-being.
The event will begin with an overview of key findings and BC-specific recommendations from the Phase II of the National Study on the Health and Wellness Determinants of Legal Professionals in Canada report. We will also share the Law Society’s mental health initiatives in response to challenges and issues that legal professionals in BC face.
The forum will feature panel discussions with legal and mental health professionals on strategies to manage burnout and vicarious trauma, which is a negative reaction experienced by those exposed to victims of trauma through their work, often leading to symptoms similar to PTSD. Attendees can engage in meaningful dialogue with time set aside for questions and discussion.
Join us as we continue the conversation to promote mental wellness in the legal community. It is only through continued engagement and discussion that we can make positive change together.
