The Law Society of BC is seeking a permanent, full-time Coordinator in our Communications department. Reporting to the Director, Communications and Engagement, the Communications Coordinator is a creative and organized communications and engagement generalist with experience in the areas of website content creation, writing and editing for external and internal audiences, social media, surveys, newsletters and events support.

The role suits someone who has an interest in website trends and best practices, an eye for design and would like to contribute to the execution of communications and engagement plans across various channels. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with content management systems, newsletter platforms, design programs and social media management tools. Experience creating analytics and data reports, presentations, and managing content calendars would also be an asset. 

A strong attention to detail is required for this role, as well as the ability to coordinate multiple projects and duties independently. The ideal candidate takes a solutions-based and proactive approach and can work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.

The duties of this position include:        

  • Creating, coordinating and posting content for websites, social media and newsletters.
  • Assisting with the creation of communications and branding materials for various channels and events.  
  • Assisting with external and internal communications duties as required. 
  • Maintaining the communications team content calendar. 
  • Writing, editing and developing content for communications projects.
  • Analyzing analytics and creating reports. 
  • Other duties as required by the Director.


Qualifications

  • University degree or diploma in communications, journalism or marketing, or equivalent work experience. 
  • One to three years’ experience in a communications, PR or online journalism role. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in the English language. 
  • An eye for design, photography and branding and a basic level of knowledge of design and graphics programs, such as Canva. 
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office and related software applications, strong knowledge of web and social media technology and applications. 
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of personal accountability and integrity. 
  • Ability to work efficiently under deadline on several projects simultaneously with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Collaborative team player who is happy to lend a hand and pitch in when needed. 
  • A willingness to learn and grow in the role.


The salary range for this position is $64,713 to $70,340.
